“Audio sonification of the incredible seismic activity off the coast of Honshu, Japan – Friday March 11th. Tectonic is a realtime seismic analysis and sound synthesis system. Sound is created in realtime by earthquakes as they occur across the globe. A tightly integrated system between Max/MSP, Google Earth and Symbolic Sound’s Kyma processes earthquake data that is translated into sound synthesis parameters.”

Konzerthaus – Empfehlung
Mein alter Freund Arno Lücker, inzwischen Dramaturg am Konzerthaus Berlin, wies mich auf Lucia Ronchettis neues Musiktheater „Lezioni di Tenebra“ (Uraufführung) hin. Die Premiere ist am 24.02. um 20 Uhr im Werner-Otto-Saal, weitere Vorstellungen folgen am 25., 26. und 27. Februar. Arno schreibt, dass dieses Musiktheaterprojekt schon von der Zuschauerperspektive sehr ungewöhnlich sein soll. Eine Art barockes (die Oper bezieht sich auf Francesco Cavallis „Il Giasone“ von 1649) und avantgardistisches Riesenmarionettentheater zugleich. Das Ganze dauert wohl auch nur knapp mehr als eine Stunde – und ist, richtig: empfehlenswert!
