In Detroit:
„At least 400 homes have been damaged after a water main broke in southwest Detroit, causing widespread flooding before the water quickly froze over in frigid winter weather conditions.
Residents were left trapped in their homes surrounded by water, after the 1.3 metre pipeline ruptured around 3:30am on Monday.
Detroit Police and Fire crews rescued 76 people and 12 pets, as the water level rose high enough to nearly submerge vehicles in some areas.“
