This interactive installation confronts the viewer with an acoustic representation of the electrical brain activities that govern his being at that very moment. All our mental and physiological processes are controlled by myriads of transitory circuits in an invisible, obscure place in the crown of our head. That intimate topography is mirrored in this sky of steel as hammers hit the plates in shifting rhythms and combinations, transforming parts of your consciousness into macroscopic dimensions.

Das erinnert nat\u00fcrlich an den Klangkunstklassiker „Music for a solo performer“ von Alvin Lucier, bei dem der Performer nur durch Nichtstun Kl\u00e4nge erzeugen kann. Anti-virtuoser gehts nicht mehr:<\/p>\n

Und da bin ich bei der Idee f\u00fcr „Music for a solo Western Man“, dem St\u00fcck das ich am 3.4.2010 im Radialsystem V in Berlin mit dem Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin urauff\u00fchren werde. Darin wird Luciers St\u00fcck derart abgewandelt, dass der Performer sich entspannen muss, aber auch noch einen Kopfh\u00f6rer aufbekommt auf dem er Porno-Tonspuren, Statistiken \u00fcber Hunger in Afrika etc. zu h\u00f6ren kriegt…<\/p>\n

In den USA gabs mal eine Gameshow die auch im provozierten Entspannen bestand:<\/p>\n
