The composer\u2019s vast archive of Hungarian folk music has been digitized, and a fair number of his phonographic recordings have been uploaded in MP3 format.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mtblog.newyorker.com\/online\/blogs\/alexross\/Bartok1908.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[2875]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/mtblog.newyorker.com\/online\/blogs\/alexross\/Bartok1908.jpg\" class=\"alignnone\" width=\"459\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nBart\u00f3k ist der vierte von links, Foto ist von 1908.<\/p>\n<p>Bart\u00f3k reiste sein halbes Leben durch Osteuropa, um Volksgut aufzunehmen und aufzuschreiben. Leider hat er oft die Aufnahmen in Noten transkribiert und dann gel\u00f6scht, au\u00dferdem sind viele der uralten Wachsrollen sehr fragil.
